History
In
1998, the financial assets of the Oregon Trails Coordinating
Council were transferred to The Oregon Community
Foundation to establish the Oregon Historic Trails Fund,
dedicated to projects related to Oregon historic trails as
recognized by the state legislature in ORS 358.075.
The history of the Oregon Trails Coordinating
Council and the creation of the Oregon Historic Trails Fund
can be found in the project
history of the 1998 Oregon Historic Trail Report.
Since 1998, the fund has awarded
36 grants totalling just under three quarters of a million
dollars. The Oregon Historic Trails Fund accepts applications
for grant funds each year.
